Talniemi

The municipality of Virolahti established a protected area in memory of Ilkka Hanski. Talniemi is located in Vilkkilä, Virolahti, and the protected area that is now part of Ilkka Hanski Nature Network is a 2.6 ha sized plot, that is part of a larger protected area. The plot contains forest and a steep hill. There is a possibility to build a birdwatching tower on the site, from which the sea could be seen.
